Dr. Kaustuv Roy completed BDS in 2002 from M.S.Ramaiah Dental college Bangalore. After completion of Part-A MFDS in 2004 he was selected to join as a resident House Surgeon in the prestigious Department of oral and Maxillofacial surgery of Ramakrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan.The same post was the only recognised training post in whole of North India by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and Ireland.He completed MFDS- RCPS(Glasgow)in 2007.He then went on to complete Membership in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery under Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow(MOMS-RCPS)in 2008.Following which he was promoted to the post of Registrar in the department of OMFS at Ramakrishna Mission Hospital. He completed his Fellowship in Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine from Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (FFD-RCSI, Ireland) in 2011.During his training period(2004 to 2011)he was exposed to cleft and craniofacial surgeries, Head and neck cancer and reconstruction and also in Maxillofacial trauma surgeries. He completed AO(Davos, Switzerland) certified basic maxillofacial trauma course in 2008.Started doing Cancer surgeries along with microvascular  independently from 2012.He parallelly developed his surgical skills in dental implantology by attending training courses in India and Abroad. He was the 1^stimplantologist from Kolkata to successfully perform Zygomatic implant placementwith the help of Nobel- Biocare in 2014.He is the 1^st maxillofacial surgeon practicing in Kolkata to successfully perform endoscopic repair of fractured condyle of mandible.He was among the few Indian implantologist to participate in the Straumann certified global launch and workshop at Vienna,Austria in 2018.Dr.Roy is a keen learner and a good teacher. He keeps himself updated with the subject by regularly attending seminars, workshops and various courses. He has conducted several workshops, seminars, lectures under the auspices of IDA WB state branch and other regional Branches.
